Welcome to the Isle of Man Sport Aid website. |
|||||||||
Isle of Man Sport Aid is at the heart of elite sport in the Isle of Man. Three athletes supported by the Foundation have in the past few years won medals at World Championships and Commonwealth Games. |

The site includes information on who we are and what we do, the athletes we support, our sponsors and The Isle of Man Sport Institute, established in 2006 to provide a higher level of support as part of our mission to “to help the best be the best they can be”. In 2009, the Institute was renamed Isle of Man Sports Institute and this coincided with the opening of our purpose built facility at the National Sports Centre. We are proud to have supported a number of sportsmen and woman who reached the top of their chosen sport. These include 2011 World Cycling Road Race Champion and cycling superstar Mark Cavendish (supported from 2000 to 2005) and several times World Enduro Champion David Knight (supported from 1999 to 2005). In addition, four recipients, Marie Purvis/Morgan (cycling – Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996), Jonny Bellis (cycling – Beijing 2008), Mark Cavendish (cycling – Beijing 2008) and Zoe Gillings (Snowboarding – Turin 2006 and Vancouver 2010) have represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games and in 2010, two other recipients Mark Christian (cycling) and Tim Kneale (shooting) won medals whilst representing the Isle of Man in the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. |
